Application: Phthalic anhydride is widely used in chemical industry, medicine, electronics, agriculture, paint, fine chemical industry and other industrial sectors. China's phthalic anhydride is mainly used in the production of phthalic lipid plasticizers, consumption of phthalic anhydride accounts for about 60% of the total consumption of phthalic anhydride, dyes and paints account for 25%, unsaturated resin and other products account for about 15%. Phthalic anhydride is an important organic chemical raw material, mainly used in the production of plastic plasticizer, alkyd resin, dye, unsaturated resin and some medicine and pesticides.
Phthalic anhydride, an organic compound with the chemical formula of C8H4O3, is a cyclic anhydride formed by dehydration of phthalic acid molecules. It is a white crystalline powder, insoluble in cold water, slightly soluble in hot water and ether, soluble in ethanol, pyridine, benzene, carbon disulfide, etc. It is an important organic chemical raw material and an important intermediate for preparing phthalate ester plasticizers, coatings, saccharin, dyes and organic compounds.

Chemical properties
Phthalic anhydride can undergo hydrolysis, alcoholysis and ammonolysis, and can react with aromatic hydrocarbons to synthesize anthraquinone derivatives. Phthalic anhydride can be used instead of phthalic acid. It reacts mainly with a monol to form an ester, such as dibutyl phthalate and dioctyl phthalate.
